She is HACCP certified through the International HACCP alliance, Pillsbury and has been trained thru the USDA/FDA for HACCP in the Meat, Seafood and Poultry industry as well as in the Medical Device industry. Kathleen also has an accredited HACCP training program thru the International HACCP Alliance. This accreditation allows for certificates to be issued to recipients of training.
Kathleen has completed allergen assessment training thru the University of Nebraska with Dr. Sue Heffle, Dr. Steve Taylor and FARRP (Food Allergen Research and Resource Program).
She is certified and has worked in the thermal processing environment, including aseptic packaging, acid foods, acidified foods and low acid canned foods, including glass and tin packaging.
Previous to consulting Kathleen’s two major employers were “The Pillsbury Co.” and “Quaker Oats”. This work experience includes field to table experience, from GAP (Good Ag Practices) to frozen and thermal process packaging, milling and dry packaging to Juice processing. Kathleen has audited numerous suppliers for the Pillsbury Company as well as numerous co-pack facilities for The Quaker Oats Company.
Kathleen is ISO trained for internal auditing and is certified for YUM! Brands Food Safety and Quality systems audits, FPA audits, Primus Labs facility and Agriculture audits as well as McDonald’s HACCP. She also is qualified as a Six Sigma Champion thru ASQ, Seafood HACCP, SQF and BRC certified.
Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meat and Animal Science and Ag Business, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has lived on a farm all her life and currently lives on a small hobby farm raising horses and beef cattle.
Kathleen prides herself on good communication, a positive attitude and loves to work with a diverse work staff.
